A presto!
Hello,
In our previous post we started to share some 'the history of design. Now, we believe it is only right to continue, reminding one of the fathers of Le Corbusier.
Swiss by birth and French by adoption, Le Corbusier took care of painting, architecture, urbanism and design. A pioneer in the use of reinforced concrete architecture, was one of the fathers of contemporary. I immediately became his furniture design icon. Le Corbusier is recognized as one of the most influential architects of the '900. His great contribution was to have conceived the design of homes, buildings and furniture made
for man, and built on a human scale. Like Leonardo, he studied the proportions of the human body and the space around him and has developed the "theory of modulor. The new measurement system was to be used by all architects to build not only space but also furniture, shelves and supports, so that they were perfectly in accord with standard measures of the human body. In the design of Le Corbusier was among the first to use elements such as metal and industrial design pieces for mass production, meeting with skepticism by those who found it revolutionary and subversive in appearances. Today all this makes us smile, but think of the importance of proportion in the design and furnishing of our homes that we almost take for granted all of us.
